Paula Hurwitz is a lawyer, born and raised in Winnipeg’s tight-knit Jewish community. In between freelance legal research and writing projects, she blogs about the books she reads, and has written short stories which have appeared in the Canadian Jewish News. Paula currently lives in Toronto with her husband and two daughters. Emiliano’s Discovery is her first novel.
"Many of us dream of undertaking something as challenging as a novel. Few of us have the courage to actually see a project of that sort through to the finish. Paula Hurwitz deserves our full congratulations - and encouragement to continue her writing career, which is off to a fine start with 'Emiliano's Discovery'."

"It might be an exaggeration to say that writing a novel was a dream of Hurwitz’s but she went to lengths to make it happen, a fact that can be seen from her acknowledgements. A lawyer by profession, she thanks a University of Toronto introduction to the novel course for giving her “the foundation to write this book,” as well as the Humber School for Writers, and several individuals. The end result is something of which to be proud."
